Funny AND very educational, I'm still amazed that a mouse can get pregnant 10 hrs after giving birth!
Ick. More info than needed. Will never have caged rodents in the library. Non-caged rodents hopefully, either.
Normally I would have laughed whole heartedly at a story like this...however, this happened to me and Sean. We had snakes (thus needed to buy mice to feed them) and we decided if we bought MULTIPLE mice at one time, it would save us trips to the store. However, we didnt even think that they would procreate. Which, of course, is exactly what they did. Within a matter of 3 weeks, we went from having 4 mice to having almost 60 (not even exaggerating!!! some had liters of 15 to 20 babies) Definitely NOT a fun experience and to this day, i hate rats and mice. They smell all the time and they pee on you if you pick them up. That being said, that was a funny story :D
